In a significant breakthrough, Islamabad Police successfully apprehended a three-member Afghan dacoit gang responsible for a series of armed robberies across the city. The operation culminated in the arrest of the gang’s ringleader along with two accomplices, marking a decisive step towards curbing violent street crime in the capital. This crackdown was announced on Thursday, highlighting the police’s ongoing efforts to enhance public safety.

The suspects were reportedly involved in forcibly snatching motorcycles, mobile phones, and other valuable possessions from innocent citizens at gunpoint. Their criminal activities had caused widespread fear and unrest among local communities, particularly in areas under the jurisdiction of Hamak Police Station and the Industrial Area Police Station. The police investigation revealed that the gang had been operating in these localities for some time, targeting unsuspecting victims during both day and night.

Following a thorough inquiry and intelligence gathering, authorities managed to arrest the three individuals identified as Ali Asghar Afghani, the gang’s mastermind, along with his associates Haider Ali Khan and Hussain Khan. The arrests were accompanied by the recovery of seven stolen motorcycles, numerous high-end mobile phones, and other valuables that had been forcibly taken from victims. Additionally, the police seized the firearms and weapons that the gang used to intimidate and threaten their targets during the robberies.

This successful operation underscores the Islamabad Police’s commitment to dismantling organized criminal networks that disrupt peace and security in the city. Law enforcement officials have assured the public that they will continue to intensify their efforts to prevent such crimes and bring perpetrators to justice. Meanwhile, residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities promptly.

The police have registered multiple cases against the accused under relevant sections of the law, and further investigations are underway to determine if the gang was involved in other criminal activities beyond the recovered incidents. This development is expected to boost public confidence in the police force’s ability to maintain law and order in Islamabad’s urban neighborhoods.
