Pakistan Denounces Indian Claims on Afghan Strikes as Baseless and Hypocritical

On Wednesday, Pakistan’s Foreign Office firmly dismissed a recent statement issued by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs dated March 17, labeling it as unfounded, misleading, and unjustified. The Indian statement criticized Pakistan’s ongoing military operations targeting terrorist sanctuaries within Afghan territory. However, Pakistan’s spokesperson responded by highlighting the broader context of India’s historical involvement in fomenting anti-Pakistan terrorism from Afghanistan, describing the Indian remarks as a clear example of blatant hypocrisy and double standards.

Delving deeper into the response, the spokesperson underscored India’s long-standing negative role in the region, pointing out that the country’s leadership has consistently refused to acknowledge its responsibility for promoting Islamophobia and inciting violence against its own Muslim population for political expediency. This, Pakistan, reflects a troubling pattern of behavior where domestic political gains are prioritized over regional stability and harmony.

Furthermore, the spokesperson highlighted India’s recent public endorsement of an occupying power responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent Palestinians, framing this stance as contradictory to India’s claims of upholding international law. The Foreign Office criticized India for attempting to lecture others on the principles of the United Nations Charter, despite its own history of violating the sovereignty and territorial integrity of neighboring countries. This, Pakistan argued, makes India’s position on such matters not only hypocritical but also quite absurd.

The statement also drew attention to the ongoing situation in occupied Kashmir, where Pakistan accused India of suppressing the Kashmiri population and denying them their internationally recognized right to self-determination. These actions, the spokesperson emphasized, are in direct violation of multiple United Nations resolutions, further undermining India’s credibility on the global stage.

In conclusion, Pakistan demanded that India immediately cease its support for terrorist groups operating from Afghan soil, including those designated under the United Nations Security Council sanctions regime. The Foreign Office called on India to refrain from making unwarranted and baseless accusations against Pakistan’s effective counter-terrorism efforts, which aim to safeguard regional peace and security. This exchange highlights the deep-rooted tensions and mistrust that continue to shape the complex dynamics between the two neighboring countries.
