CDF Asim Munir Emphasizes Zero Tolerance for Foreign-Triggered Violence in Pakistan

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) of Pakistan, has firmly stated that any acts of violence within the country, provoked by incidents taking place abroad, will not be accepted under any circumstances. This strong message came during a significant meeting held in Rawalpindi, where the army chief engaged with prominent religious scholars from the Ahl-e-Tasheeh community. The discussion focused on enhancing national security and fostering social cohesion amid rising regional challenges.

During the gathering, the CDF underscored the vital role that religious leaders, or Ulema, play in nurturing harmony and tolerance across Pakistan’s diverse society. He highlighted their unique position to bridge divides, reduce sectarian friction, and combat the spread of false narratives that often fuel unrest. By encouraging the Ulema to take an active stance against misinformation, the army chief aimed to strengthen societal resilience against divisive forces.

Moreover, Field Marshal Munir issued a stern warning against any attempts to destabilize Pakistan through external influences. He made it clear that efforts to incite unrest with foreign backing would ultimately fail, provided the nation remains united and vigilant. This call for solidarity comes at a time when Pakistan faces multiple security threats, both from within and beyond its borders.

Referencing Operation Ghazab lil Haq, the army chief reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to preventing its territory from being exploited by terrorist organizations. He emphasized that not only will Pakistan safeguard its own soil, but it will also insist that Afghan territory not be used as a launchpad for hostile activities against Pakistan. The CDF affirmed that the military will persist with precise, intelligence-driven operations targeting terrorist networks wherever they operate, demonstrating a proactive approach to national security.

In addition to military measures, Field Marshal Munir touched upon Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic initiatives aimed at easing regional tensions. While peace remains a foremost objective, he stressed that it will never come at the expense of the country’s security. This balanced stance reflects Pakistan’s desire to maintain stability in a volatile neighborhood while protecting its sovereignty and citizens.

Importantly, the army chief called upon the religious scholars to intensify their efforts in promoting national unity and discouraging extremist ideologies. He cautioned against the misuse of religious sentiments to justify violence, emphasizing that such actions only undermine Pakistan’s social fabric. His message was clear: violence triggered by events in other countries has no place within Pakistan’s borders and will be met with zero tolerance.

The Ulema present at the meeting expressed strong support for the army’s position. They collectively condemned any violence perpetrated in the name of religion and pledged their dedication to peace and stability throughout the country. Furthermore, they assured full cooperation with law enforcement agencies to help maintain public order and prevent unrest.
