The third Pakistani citizen who lost his life in the United Arab Emirates amid the recent missile escalation has been officially identified as Ismail Saleem Khan. Authorities have finalized all necessary arrangements to send his remains back to Pakistan for proper burial. This somber development adds to the growing list of casualties resulting from the ongoing conflict in the region.
Ismail Saleem Khan was fatally injured in Abu Dhabi when debris from a missile struck the area where he was present. Officials confirmed that his family in Pakistan has been notified of the tragic incident. His body is scheduled to be transported to Peshawar on Thursday, where he will be laid to rest. Khan hailed from the Kurram district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and was employed in the UAE as an electrical wiring assistant, supporting his family through his work abroad. He leaves behind a large family, including three sons and three daughters, who now face the difficult task of coping with his sudden loss.
This latest fatality follows earlier reports of other Pakistani nationals who were also victims of missile debris in the UAE. One such incident occurred in the Baniyas area of Abu Dhabi, where falling fragments from an intercepted ballistic missile claimed the life of another Pakistani man. These deaths have contributed to a total of seven confirmed fatalities in the recent missile attacks targeting the UAE, underscoring the dangerous fallout of escalating hostilities in the Middle East.
Among the Pakistani casualties, one was killed in Dubai’s Al Barsha district when debris from an aerial missile interception struck his vehicle shortly after iftar, the evening meal breaking the fast during Ramadan. Another victim, Murid Zaman, also from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, died in Abu Dhabi’s Madinat Zayed area after being hit by missile fragments. These incidents have deeply affected the Pakistani expatriate community living and working in the UAE, many of whom are employed in various sectors and contribute significantly to both economies.
The surge in missile attacks comes amid a backdrop of heightened tensions in the Middle East, following a series of US and Israeli strikes targeting Iran. These strikes reportedly resulted in the deaths of several senior Iranian figures, including members close to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In retaliation, Tehran has launched missile attacks against Israel and Gulf countries that host US military bases, including the UAE. This cycle of violence has raised concerns about the safety of foreign nationals residing in the region and the broader implications for regional stability.
As the situation continues to evolve, diplomatic channels remain active in coordinating the safe return of victims and providing support to affected families. The repatriation of Ismail Saleem Khan’s body is a poignant reminder of the human cost of geopolitical conflicts and the urgent need for de-escalation to protect innocent lives caught in the crossfire.
