Law enforcement agencies have launched an extensive series of search and combing operations spanning Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and adjacent districts including Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, and Murree. These operations, aimed at bolstering security and curbing criminal activities, involved thorough inspections of residences, vehicles, hostels, and commercial areas. Officials emphasized that this crackdown is part of a broader effort to maintain law and order in the region.

In Islamabad’s Shahzad Town, police intensified their efforts by inspecting 235 homes and questioning 110 individuals. The operation also included the examination of six vehicles and 14 motorcycles. During these checks, authorities successfully recovered ammunition compatible with 8-bore and 30-bore pistols, highlighting concerns over illegal firearms possession in the area. This discovery underscores the ongoing challenges faced by security forces in controlling the circulation of weapons within urban neighborhoods.

Meanwhile, in Rawalpindi, the focus shifted to the Dhoke Jamna locality, where security personnel conducted a meticulous search of 47 vehicles. The operation extended to 29 hostels, two hotels, and a pair of shops, reflecting a comprehensive approach to identifying suspicious activities in both residential and commercial settings. As a result, 31 individuals exhibiting suspicious behavior were detained for further investigation, signaling a proactive stance against potential threats.

Further north in Attock, police undertook an extensive sweep covering 791 houses and scrutinized 117 individuals across various sectors. This operation yielded the seizure of 1,610 grams of charas, a significant quantity of narcotics, and led to the arrest of two drug dealers. The crackdown in Attock highlights the persistent battle against drug trafficking networks operating within the district.

Similar security measures were implemented in Jhelum, where authorities checked 355 individuals and 151 residences. During these efforts, four Afghan nationals were apprehended, raising concerns about undocumented migration and its potential links to criminal activities. The arrests in Jhelum reflect the ongoing vigilance of law enforcement in managing cross-border security challenges.

In Chakwal, the operations resulted in the recovery of weapons and ammunition, prompting the registration of multiple cases against those involved. This development indicates a continued crackdown on illegal arms possession, which remains a critical issue in maintaining public safety in the district.

Concurrently, in the hill station of Murree, police conducted searches in key commercial hubs including Kotli Bazaar, Sunny Bank, and New Murree Bazaar. The operation led to the arrest of three proclaimed offenders, individuals wanted in connection with various crimes. Additionally, six illegal Afghan nationals were detained and transferred to a holding center, reflecting the authorities’ efforts to address illegal immigration and related security concerns in the area.

The spokesperson for the police emphasized that these ongoing operations are part of a coordinated strategy to enhance security and disrupt criminal networks across the region. By targeting multiple districts simultaneously, law enforcement aims to create a safer environment for residents and visitors alike, while sending a clear message that illegal activities will not be tolerated.
