Pakistan Air Force Strikes Key Afghan Taliban Strongholds in Kabul and Kandahar

The Pakistan Air Force launched a series of precise airstrikes targeting the Afghan Taliban’s 313 Corps infrastructure in Kabul as part of its ongoing counter-terrorism campaign named Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, which translates to ‘Righteous Fury.’ These operations were initiated following a series of unprovoked attacks by the Afghan Taliban, prompting a decisive military response aimed at crippling the militant group’s operational capabilities.

During the night spanning March 12 to 13, the Pakistan military executed coordinated strikes on four key terrorist hideouts. These included several military installations linked not only to the Afghan Taliban but also to the extremist faction known as Fitna al-Khwarij. The targeted assault resulted in the complete destruction of the 313 Corps’ infrastructure in Kabul, significantly weakening the Taliban’s command and control in the region.

In addition to the Kabul strikes, another critical operation was carried out against the Tarawo terrorist camp located in Kandahar. This strike successfully dismantled militant facilities used for training and logistics, further disrupting the Taliban’s operational network. The air raids also destroyed an oil storage facility at Kandahar Airfield, along with adjacent logistics infrastructure, which are vital for sustaining militant activities in southern Afghanistan.

Simultaneously, security forces targeted the Sherinaw terrorist camp in Paktia province, marking another significant blow to the insurgents’ foothold in eastern Afghanistan. Officials emphasized that these operations under Operation Ghazab Lil Haq are ongoing and will persist until all strategic objectives are fully achieved, reflecting Pakistan’s commitment to neutralizing threats emanating from Afghan soil.

In a related diplomatic development, Pakistan’s ambassador to the United Nations Security Council, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, clarified that these counter-terrorism measures are strictly aimed at eliminating terrorist threats and are not intended to harm the Afghan population. He also accused India of continuing to support terrorism within Pakistan by allegedly using Afghan territory as a base, a claim that highlights the complex regional dynamics involving multiple state and non-state actors.

These recent military actions underscore Pakistan’s intensified efforts to combat terrorism and safeguard its borders amid ongoing security challenges. The strikes against the Afghan Taliban’s strategic positions demonstrate a robust approach to countering militant threats and maintaining regional stability, even as diplomatic tensions persist in the broader South Asian context.
