In a significant diplomatic engagement, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif convened a focused meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who also serves as the Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, in the city of Jeddah today. This high-level discussion was attended by prominent Pakistani officials, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, as well as Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, underscoring the importance of the dialogue.

At the start of the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended his respectful greetings and warm regards to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. He also expressed deep gratitude for the enduring support that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has consistently provided to Pakistan over the years. This gesture highlighted the strong historical and strategic ties that bind the two nations, reflecting a relationship built on mutual respect and cooperation.

During their discussions, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with Saudi Arabia, particularly during these testing times marked by regional uncertainties. Both leaders engaged in a comprehensive exchange of views concerning the latest developments across the Middle East and the broader region. They emphasized the critical need for collaborative efforts aimed at fostering peace and stability, recognizing that regional harmony is essential for the prosperity and security of their peoples.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman that Pakistan remains firmly committed to standing alongside the Kingdom in all circumstances. He reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to supporting Saudi Arabia’s efforts to maintain peace and security, not only within the Kingdom but throughout the region. This commitment reflects Pakistan’s strategic interest in a peaceful neighborhood and its desire to contribute positively to regional diplomacy.

The meeting in Jeddah also served as a platform to strengthen bilateral relations, with both sides agreeing to enhance cooperation in various fields. The presence of senior military and diplomatic officials signaled the comprehensive nature of the partnership, encompassing defense, foreign policy, and economic collaboration. This visit by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif comes at a time when regional dynamics are rapidly evolving, making such high-level engagements crucial for maintaining strategic alliances.

Overall, the talks underscored the shared vision of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia for a stable and peaceful region. Both leaders committed to continuing their dialogue and working closely to address challenges and seize opportunities that benefit their countries and the wider Muslim world.
