Ivana Lisette Ortiz Faces Attempted Murder Charges After Shooting at Rihanna’s LA Residence

Ivana Lisette Ortiz has been officially charged with attempted murder after allegedly firing multiple shots outside the Los Angeles residence of international pop icon Rihanna. The incident reportedly took place while the singer and her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, were inside the property, raising serious concerns about their safety and that of others present.

The shooting occurred on March 8 in the upscale Beverly Hills area, a neighborhood known for its high-profile residents and heightened security measures. Authorities revealed that several rounds were discharged toward the home, an act described as reckless and highly dangerous, endangering not only the occupants but also neighboring residents.

Ortiz, who is 35 years old, made her initial court appearance on March 10. She now faces a range of serious criminal charges beyond attempted murder. These include 10 counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and three counts related to shooting at an inhabited dwelling or vehicle. These additional accusations stem from the fact that the gunfire targeted not only Rihanna’s home but also a vehicle parked on the property and a nearby residence.

Investigators have detailed that the assault charges cover incidents involving individuals who were either inside or close to the property during the shooting, including members of Rihanna’s household staff. Remarkably, despite the volume of gunfire, no injuries were reported, a fact that has been described as fortunate given the potential for tragedy.

law enforcement officials, Ortiz allegedly drove up to the front of the property and discharged a semiautomatic rifle several times before fleeing the scene. Police later tracked down her white Tesla approximately eight miles away at the Sherman Oaks Galleria shopping center, where she was apprehended without further incident.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman emphasized the gravity of the case, highlighting the broader issue of gun violence in residential neighborhoods. He stated, “Opening fire in any populated neighborhood is extremely dangerous and puts lives at risk. This kind of violence will be fully prosecuted,” underscoring the commitment of the justice system to address such threats decisively.

At the time of the shooting, several individuals were inside Rihanna’s home, including members of her household. Rihanna and A$AP Rocky share three children, though it remains unclear whether the children were present during the incident. The safety of the family remains a priority as the investigation continues.

Ortiz is currently being held on a $1.8 million bail and is scheduled to return to court later this month for an arraignment hearing. Meanwhile, investigators are actively pursuing leads to uncover a possible motive behind the shooting and whether Ortiz was aware that the property belonged to the globally recognized singer.

The event has sparked significant attention across social media platforms, with fans expressing shock and concern over the attack on one of the world’s most famous entertainers. Authorities have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, and further updates are expected as new information emerges.
