Operation Ghazab lil-Haq: Pakistan Army Strikes Afghan Taliban Strongholds in Zhob Sector

The Pakistan Army has intensified its counterterrorism campaign along the volatile Pakistan-Afghanistan border by targeting militant hideouts in the Zhob District. In a robust retaliatory operation named Ghazab lil-Haq, Pakistani forces focused their assault on Posts No. 2 and 3, which have been reportedly utilized by Afghan Taliban fighters as strategic positions in the region.

This operation marks a significant escalation in efforts to curb cross-border militancy, as the military’s swift and coordinated strikes compelled the militants to abandon their entrenched locations. The militants fled hastily, leaving behind a cache of weapons and equipment, signaling the effectiveness of the Pakistan Army’s tactical response. Such decisive action underscores the military’s commitment to securing the border and dismantling terrorist infrastructure that threatens national security.

Among the seized armaments were Russian-made 73mm HGL-9 heavy grenade launchers, a notable find that highlights the level of firepower possessed by these militant groups. The capture of such sophisticated weaponry not only disrupts the militants’ operational capabilities but also provides valuable intelligence for future counterterrorism operations. Security officials emphasized that these ongoing efforts are part of a broader strategy to eliminate terrorist elements that have long exploited the rugged terrain of the Zhob sector.

Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq remains active, with Pakistani forces maintaining pressure on insurgent groups to prevent them from regrouping or reestablishing their presence. The military’s sustained campaign aims to restore stability to this critical border area, which has historically been a hotspot for militant activity due to its proximity to Afghanistan. Officials have reiterated their resolve to continue these operations until all objectives are met, ensuring that the threat posed by these groups is neutralized effectively.

It is worth noting that the Zhob District, located in Balochistan province, has frequently been targeted by militants seeking to exploit its strategic location. The Pakistan Army’s proactive measures in this region reflect a comprehensive approach to national security, combining intelligence-driven operations with tactical offensives. As the situation evolves, the military’s focus remains on safeguarding the country’s borders and preventing any resurgence of terrorism that could destabilize the region.
