Pakistan Firmly Rejects Use of Its Territory for Attacks on Iran, Says Rana Tanveer

Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, reiterated Pakistan’s firm position against the use of its land for any military operations targeting Iran. Speaking on Sunday from his home constituency in Sharaqpur Sharif, he made it clear that Pakistan will not permit its soil to be exploited for attacks against its neighbor, underscoring the country’s commitment to regional stability and peaceful coexistence.

In his remarks, Rana Tanveer strongly condemned recent assaults carried out by the United States and Israel against Iran, emphasizing Pakistan’s disapproval of such aggressive actions. He extended this condemnation to include attacks on Saudi Arabia and other Gulf nations, reflecting Islamabad’s balanced approach towards maintaining good relations with all parties involved in the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

Furthermore, the minister highlighted assurances received from Gulf countries and Saudi Arabia, who have committed not to allow their territories to be used as launching pads for strikes against Iran. This mutual understanding among regional players is a positive step towards preventing further escalation of conflicts. At the same time, Rana Tanveer stressed that Iran should reciprocate by refraining from conducting attacks on Saudi Arabia or other Gulf states, advocating for restraint on all sides to avoid destabilizing the region.

Addressing Pakistan’s broader role in the Middle East, the federal minister pointed out that the country has actively joined international efforts aimed at fostering peace in Gaza. He reiterated Pakistan’s longstanding condemnation of Israel’s military actions and harsh treatment of Palestinians, reaffirming Islamabad’s support for the Palestinian cause and its call for a just resolution to the conflict.

On the domestic front, Rana Tanveer acknowledged the economic impact of the Middle East tensions, revealing that the government has recently implemented a slight increase in petroleum prices. He cautioned that if the conflict continues to escalate, fuel prices could rise further, mirroring global trends where energy costs are surging due to geopolitical uncertainties. This development poses challenges for Pakistan’s economy, which remains sensitive to fluctuations in international oil markets.

In summary, Rana Tanveer Hussain’s statements reflect Pakistan’s delicate balancing act amid complex regional dynamics. By refusing to allow its territory to be used for aggression and advocating for peaceful dialogue, Pakistan aims to contribute to stability in a volatile neighborhood while managing the economic repercussions at home.
