    Foreign Minister Leads Efforts to Support Stranded Pakistanis Amid Gulf-Iran Tensions

    In response to escalating regional tensions involving Iran and the Gulf countries, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has swiftly mobilized a comprehensive support system to assist Pakistani nationals stranded abroad. These efforts come as part of a broader government initiative to ensure the safety and well-being of overseas Pakistanis during this period of uncertainty and disruption.

    The Foreign Office has activated its Crisis Management Unit, which is now operating around the clock to closely monitor developments and coordinate timely responses. This unit plays a pivotal role in managing the challenges faced by Pakistanis caught in the midst of the geopolitical strain, particularly those residing in Gulf countries where the situation has caused significant travel and logistical hurdles.

    Following directives from the Prime Minister, Pakistani embassies across the Gulf region have established dedicated facilitation desks. These desks are designed to provide immediate assistance to stranded citizens, offering services such as visa support, temporary accommodation arrangements, and help with travel logistics. This hands-on approach aims to alleviate the difficulties faced by Pakistanis who have found themselves unable to return home due to flight cancellations and border restrictions.

    In addition to physical support at embassies, the Foreign Ministry has launched several digital initiatives to enhance communication and service delivery. Special online portals and mobile applications have been introduced, alongside helpline numbers, to provide real-time information and guidance. These tools enable affected individuals to access assistance efficiently, report their situations, and receive updates on flight schedules and repatriation efforts.

    Moreover, Pakistani diplomatic missions are maintaining continuous dialogue with host country authorities to facilitate cooperation and expedite solutions for stranded nationals. This collaboration has been crucial in negotiating the partial resumption of commercial flights, which has allowed the gradual repatriation of Pakistanis from the Gulf. The Foreign Office has emphasized that these flights will continue to operate under strict safety protocols to ensure the health and security of returning citizens.

    Throughout this challenging period, the government has reiterated its commitment to prioritizing the welfare of overseas Pakistanis. Comprehensive information regarding emergency contacts, assistance programs, and travel advisories is readily accessible on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ official website and its social media channels. These resources serve as vital lifelines for those seeking help and staying informed amid the ongoing regional tensions.
