Bahrain’s Air Defence Neutralizes 75 Missiles and 123 Drones Amid Rising Tensions

The Bahrain Defence Force announced on Thursday that its air defence units have successfully intercepted and destroyed a total of 75 missiles and 123 drones since the onset of a series of hostile attacks targeting the kingdom. These aggressive actions, which Bahrain attributes to Iranian-backed forces, have heightened security concerns across the Gulf region.

In an official statement, the Defence Force highlighted the exceptional vigilance and operational readiness demonstrated by its personnel throughout these ongoing confrontations. The military emphasized that their swift and effective response has been crucial in protecting Bahrain’s airspace and ensuring the safety of its citizens and critical infrastructure. This robust defence posture reflects the kingdom’s commitment to maintaining national security amid increasing regional instability.

The statement further condemned the use of ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles aimed at civilian areas and private properties, describing such attacks as grave breaches of international humanitarian law and violations of the United Nations Charter. Officials warned that these aggressive acts not only endanger innocent lives but also threaten the broader peace and stability of the Gulf region, which has been grappling with escalating tensions in recent years.

In light of the ongoing threats, Bahraini authorities have issued a public advisory urging residents to remain indoors and limit outdoor activities unless absolutely necessary. The advisory stresses the importance of exercising heightened caution, particularly avoiding areas that have sustained damage or where suspicious objects may be present. Citizens are also cautioned against photographing military operations or debris from intercepted missiles and drones, as such actions could compromise security efforts.

Moreover, the government has called on the public to refrain from spreading unverified information or rumors that could cause panic or misinformation. Instead, residents are encouraged to rely exclusively on official government announcements and verified media outlets for accurate updates, warnings, and instructions. The Defence Force assured the public that it continues to monitor the situation closely and remains prepared to respond decisively to any further threats.

These developments come amid a broader context of heightened geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, where proxy conflicts and regional rivalries have increasingly manifested through missile and drone attacks. Bahrain’s proactive defence measures underscore the kingdom’s resolve to safeguard its sovereignty and contribute to regional security despite the complex challenges it faces.
