Tulamba Police Detain Man for Sexual Assault and Coercion Using Fake Job Offers

In a significant development from Tulamba, a town in Punjab, law enforcement officials have apprehended a man accused of sexually assaulting a young girl and secretly recording explicit videos. The suspect, identified as Ayaz Sahu, reportedly deceived multiple girls by impersonating a journalist and enticing them with false promises of employment opportunities.

Authorities disclosed that Sahu allegedly exploited his victims by luring them under the guise of offering jobs, only to trap them in compromising situations. It is believed that he coerced several girls into recording inappropriate content, which he then used as leverage to extort money. The police investigation revealed that the suspect maintained a pattern of blackmail, threatening to release the sensitive material if his demands were not met.

During the arrest, officers seized a mobile phone and a laptop from Sahu’s possession. These devices have been sent for detailed forensic examination to uncover the full extent of his activities. Preliminary findings suggest that dozens of explicit videos were stored on these gadgets, potentially implicating more victims. The digital evidence is expected to shed light on how the recordings were made, distributed, and whether any accomplices assisted in these criminal acts.

One of the victims reportedly endured blackmail and sexual abuse at the hands of the suspect for nearly four years. She bravely came forward to file a formal complaint, which led to the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against Sahu. Following a three-day physical remand, the court placed him under judicial custody as investigations continue.

Meanwhile, in a related incident highlighting the ongoing crackdown on sexual offenders in Punjab, a suspect named Tariq was killed during an alleged encounter with the Crime Control Department (CCD) of the Punjab Police in Kasur. Tariq was reportedly being transported to identify a crime scene when the confrontation occurred. Police stated that Tariq’s associates opened fire on the CCD personnel, resulting in a crossfire during which Tariq was fatally shot by his own accomplices.

Further investigation into Tariq’s criminal background revealed disturbing details. DNA evidence linked him to the rape of two additional minor girls, and he was known to have a history of sexual offenses against children. Authorities also noted that Tariq was addicted to ice (crystal meth), which may have contributed to his violent behavior. These recent events underscore the challenges law enforcement faces in tackling sexual crimes and the urgent need for continued vigilance and support for victims across the region.
