Kamran Tessori, the Governor of Sindh, delivered a strong message on Wednesday regarding the recent geopolitical tensions in the region, particularly condemning Israel’s attack on Iran. He described the assault as a direct challenge to the unity and strength of the Muslim world, emphasizing the broader implications for regional stability. Tessori’s remarks came during a public ceremony in Karachi, where he also addressed Pakistan’s ongoing security concerns linked to cross-border terrorism.
Expanding on the security situation, Tessori highlighted the critical issue of Afghanistan’s role in harboring terrorist groups that have targeted Pakistan. He asserted that Islamabad has repeatedly communicated to Kabul the necessity of preventing its territory from being used as a launching pad for attacks against Pakistan. “We have extended significant support to our Afghan brothers over the years, but there is a limit to our patience,” he warned. Tessori made it clear that Pakistan cannot remain passive in the face of continued terrorist activities emanating from Afghan soil.
He further elaborated on Pakistan’s firm stance against terrorism, stating that the country is actively confronting militants operating within Afghanistan. Tessori issued a stern warning to those provoking Muslims, declaring that any such provocations will be met with decisive action. He praised the Pakistan Army’s professionalism and resilience under the leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir, recalling how the military responded effectively to Indian provocations in the past, leaving India unable to retaliate.
In a notable statement, Tessori expressed gratitude towards former US President Donald Trump for gradually unveiling certain truths related to regional conflicts. He urged Afghan citizens to encourage their government to recognize Pakistan’s longstanding support for Afghanistan, especially during times when the international community was largely opposed to the Afghan cause. Tessori pointed out that many respected religious scholars from Afghanistan have studied in Pakistani seminaries, underscoring the deep cultural and religious ties between the two nations.
Addressing the issue of terrorist safe havens, Tessori revealed that Pakistan had informed the Afghan government about militants responsible for attacks on Pakistani soil who were hiding within Afghanistan. He claimed that Pakistan’s military operations had dealt significant blows to these terrorists, forcing them to abandon their hideouts. Tessori emphasized that extremists received a clear message that their actions would not be tolerated, reflecting Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region.
Despite Pakistan’s efforts to foster friendly relations with Afghanistan, Tessori lamented that the Afghan government continued to provide shelter to terrorists. This, he said, compelled Pakistan to respond firmly once its patience was exhausted. The world witnessed the strength and capability of Pakistan’s armed forces under Field Marshal Asim Munir’s command, he added.
Turning to Iran, Tessori praised the Iranian Supreme Leader for his steadfastness and willingness to embrace martyrdom, describing it as an inspiring example for Muslims worldwide. He noted that this spirit of faith has invigorated the nation and strengthened its resolve. Tessori also accused India of involvement in fomenting terrorism within Pakistan’s Balochistan province, reiterating that Pakistan has delivered a historic blow to terrorists operating from Afghan territory.
Finally, Tessori touched upon Pakistan’s economic challenges, acknowledging the government’s and military leadership’s efforts to stabilize the country’s economy. He pointed out that foreign investments often face disruptions due to orchestrated terrorist activities allegedly backed by India. Tessori concluded with a firm declaration that Pakistan will eliminate any threats posed by those who seek to undermine its sovereignty and security.
