Information Minister Details Progress of Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq Against Afghan Taliban

Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information, Attaullah Tarar, has provided an in-depth update on the ongoing military offensive known as Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq, targeting Afghan Taliban militants accused of orchestrating cross-border attacks. The operation, which has been active in the northern districts of Balochistan and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reflects Pakistan’s continued commitment to securing its borders and curbing militant activities that threaten national security.

During a detailed briefing, Tarar revealed that Afghan Taliban fighters launched coordinated ground assaults at 16 different locations within Balochistan, including key areas such as Qila Saifullah, Nushki, and Chaman. In addition to these ground offensives, militants reportedly carried out firing attacks from 25 separate points aimed at Pakistani security forces stationed in the province. Despite the intensity of these attacks, Pakistani forces successfully repelled all attempts, demonstrating resilience and tactical preparedness in the face of persistent threats.

The information minister highlighted that the clashes resulted in the deaths of 27 Afghan Taliban militants and left several others wounded. On the Pakistani side, the Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan North suffered the loss of one soldier, with five more personnel injured while defending their positions. These casualties underscore the ongoing risks faced by security forces as they confront well-armed insurgents in challenging terrain.

Meanwhile, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, militants attempted a ground assault at one location and launched firing raids at 12 additional sites. Pakistani forces managed to thwart these attacks without sustaining any casualties, showcasing their operational effectiveness. Overnight retaliatory operations in the province reportedly resulted in the elimination of 40 Afghan Taliban fighters, further weakening the militant presence in the region.

Minister Tarar emphasized that follow-up operations are still underway, with security forces maintaining pressure on militant groups to prevent any resurgence. He assured that a comprehensive and detailed update on the progress of Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq would be shared with the public in due course, reflecting transparency and ongoing vigilance.

Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq forms a critical part of Pakistan’s broader strategy to combat cross-border militancy, which has long posed a challenge to regional stability. The operation aims to dismantle militant networks operating along the porous border areas and to safeguard the lives of civilians and security personnel alike. While the casualty figures provided have yet to be independently verified, the government’s firm stance signals a determined effort to restore peace and security in these volatile border regions.
