Iran Warns Europe Against Involvement in US-Israel Conflict, Calls It an Act of War

Tehran has issued a stern warning to European countries, urging them to avoid entanglement in the ongoing conflict between the United States and Israel, which is increasingly impacting Iran. Iranian officials emphasized that the distinctions being made in Europe between defensive and offensive actions are meaningless in this context and insisted that any European participation in the conflict would be interpreted as a direct act of war against Iran.

This warning comes in response to recent statements from Germany, France, and Britain, which hinted at the possibility of their involvement in efforts to neutralize Iran’s ballistic missile capabilities. These European nations have expressed concerns over Iran’s missile program and suggested that they might support the US-led campaign to dismantle these weapons. However, Tehran has rejected these notions outright, viewing any such engagement as crossing a red line.

An Iranian spokesperson conveyed the government’s position unequivocally, stating that any cooperation with what Iran terms the aggressors in this conflict would provoke a severe response. The official dismissed the European framing of their potential involvement as ‘defensive,’ arguing that in reality, defensive and offensive actions are indistinguishable in this scenario. The spokesperson also lamented the prospect of Germany, France, and Britain siding with the aggressors, describing it as a regrettable development and declaring, “Enough is enough.” This strong rhetoric underscores Iran’s determination to deter further foreign interference.

Meanwhile, the situation on the ground continues to escalate. On Tuesday evening, an Israeli airstrike targeted the Assembly of Experts building in Qom, a city of profound religious significance in Iran. The Assembly of Experts is a powerful clerical body responsible for overseeing the selection of Iran’s next Supreme Leader, making this attack symbolically and strategically significant. Iranian media outlets reported that the building was severely damaged, marking a notable intensification in hostilities.

In addition to the strike in Qom, explosions were reported in Tehran and the western city of Karaj, including areas near the heavily trafficked Revolution Square in the capital. The Israeli military issued evacuation orders for the Hakimiyeh industrial zone in Tehran and Payam International Airport in Karaj, warning residents of imminent further strikes. These developments highlight the widening scope of the conflict and the increasing risk of broader regional destabilization.

As tensions rise between Iran, Israel, and the United States, the involvement of European powers remains a contentious issue. Tehran’s warning serves as a clear message that any external interference, especially from European nations, will not be tolerated and could lead to a significant escalation. The international community watches closely as the situation unfolds, with concerns mounting over the potential for a larger-scale confrontation in the Middle East.
