US Advises Immediate Evacuation of Citizens from Over a Dozen Middle Eastern Nations Amid Rising …

The United States Department of State issued a strong advisory on Monday, urging all American citizens to promptly evacuate from more than a dozen countries across the Middle East. This urgent call to action comes in the wake of intensified military operations involving the US and Israel targeting Iranian interests. The advisory specifically includes nations such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, the West Bank and Gaza, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Syria, and Yemen.

Mora Namdar, the assistant secretary for consular affairs at the State Department, emphasized the importance of departing these regions using any available commercial transportation options. She highlighted the increasing safety risks that American nationals face amid the volatile security environment. The department’s decision follows a series of recent updates to travel warnings, which have progressively advised against travel to these countries due to the rapidly deteriorating situation.

In a related development, the US Embassy in Amman, Jordan, announced the evacuation of its staff earlier on Monday after receiving credible threat information. This move underscores the gravity of the security challenges confronting American diplomatic missions in the region. Furthermore, the State Department has activated an inter-agency emergency task force designed to coordinate the US government’s response to the unfolding crisis and manage the complex diplomatic and security ramifications.

The current escalation traces back to a series of coordinated strikes carried out by the United States and Israel over the weekend, targeting multiple strategic sites within Iran. These operations reportedly resulted in the deaths of several high-ranking Iranian officials, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Tehran responded swiftly with retaliatory attacks on various US and Israeli positions throughout the region, significantly heightening tensions and plunging the Middle East into a state of open conflict.

US President Donald Trump addressed the situation on Monday, projecting that the conflict could last between four to five weeks, though he acknowledged the possibility of a prolonged engagement. The violence has already caused substantial casualties and has severely disrupted regional stability. One of the immediate consequences has been a sharp increase in global energy prices, fueled by Iranian threats to target any vessels attempting to navigate the Strait of Hormuz—a critical maritime chokepoint responsible for a significant portion of the world’s oil shipments.

In response to the surging energy costs, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Energy Secretary Chris Wright are scheduled to announce measures aimed at alleviating the economic impact. Washington’s top diplomat, Marco Rubio, indicated that these steps are part of a preemptive strategy to mitigate the potential fallout from the conflict on global markets. Rubio also mentioned that a briefing for congressional leaders is planned to provide further details on the strikes and the US government’s ongoing efforts to manage the crisis.
