A medical examination conducted on Monday confirmed that a foreign woman was raped in Lahore’s Defence area. The victim, originally from Azerbaijan, was allegedly assaulted by three men two days prior to the report.
On Sunday, police apprehended Mohsin, a primary suspect in the gang rape case, from an upscale neighborhood in Lahore. Additionally, two other individuals were detained on suspicion of aiding the perpetrators. Authorities are actively conducting raids to capture two more suspects connected to the incident.
Investigations revealed that two local women were accompanied by three male friends at a café where the foreign woman was reportedly given a drug-laced substance before the assault took place during the night between Friday and Saturday. Following the attack, the suspects abandoned her near the airport and fled the scene.
Police also disclosed details of the victim’s travel history as part of the inquiry. She first arrived in Lahore from Tashkent on March 4 via a foreign airline and stayed with Rida Hameed. She then departed for Baku, Azerbaijan, on March 20. The woman returned to Pakistan on May 22, traveling from Baku and residing with Rashid Ali. Approximately 15 days ago, she arrived in Lahore for the third time.
Authorities noted that her visits to Lahore were related to the clothing business, with frequent travel between Lahore and Faisalabad for work purposes. On Sunday, police recovered the vehicle allegedly used to abduct the woman from the residence of a relative of the main suspect, who remains at large.
Investigators also mentioned that the victim is able to understand and speak Urdu, which has aided communication during the ongoing investigation.
