In a significant diplomatic exchange on Sunday, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, engaged in a detailed conversation with Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Fuad Hussein. The discussion centered on the swiftly changing dynamics in the region, highlighting the urgent necessity for continuous and coordinated efforts to reduce tensions and promote lasting peace and security across neighboring countries.

Both leaders acknowledged the complexity of the current geopolitical environment, which has been marked by escalating conflicts and uncertainty. They underscored the importance of sustained dialogue and collaboration between their nations to prevent further deterioration of regional stability. The conversation concluded with a mutual commitment to maintain close communication channels, ensuring that any emerging issues can be addressed promptly and constructively.

Earlier the same day, Senator Ishaq Dar also held a telephonic discussion with Oman’s Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi. During this exchange, both officials expressed deep concern over the ongoing escalation of tensions in the region. They emphasized the critical need for restraint from all parties involved and advocated for peaceful dialogue as the primary means to resolve disputes and avoid conflict.

This diplomatic outreach reflects Pakistan’s proactive approach to regional diplomacy, aiming to foster an environment conducive to peace and cooperation. The conversations with Iraq and Oman demonstrate Islamabad’s commitment to working alongside its neighbors to address shared challenges and promote stability. Both sets of leaders agreed to keep their communication lines open, signaling a readiness to collaborate closely as the situation evolves.

It is worth noting that these discussions come at a time when the Middle East and South Asia face numerous security challenges, including political unrest, economic pressures, and external influences that threaten to exacerbate existing conflicts. Pakistan’s engagement with Iraq and Oman highlights its strategic interest in contributing to a peaceful regional order, which is essential for economic development and the well-being of its citizens.
