Pakistan Reports Significant Taliban Losses in Retaliatory Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq

Pakistan’s federal government has revealed substantial progress in its recent military offensive against Afghan Taliban militants, describing the campaign as a decisive response to ongoing cross-border threats. Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar announced that the operation, named Ghazab-ul-Haq, has inflicted heavy casualties on Taliban fighters, with 415 militants reportedly killed and an additional 580 wounded so far. This retaliatory action underscores Pakistan’s commitment to neutralizing insurgent bases that have long posed security challenges along the border region.

In his detailed statement shared on the social media platform X, Minister Tarar highlighted the scale and intensity of the operation. Pakistani forces have successfully demolished 182 Taliban checkpoints, which served as critical nodes for militant movement and control. Moreover, 31 other strategic positions were seized, further weakening the insurgents’ foothold. The destruction of these strongholds marks a significant tactical achievement, disrupting Taliban supply lines and command centers.

Beyond ground operations, the military campaign has seen extensive use of air power. the minister, airstrikes targeted 46 different locations inside Afghanistan, focusing on militant hideouts and weapons depots. These precision strikes have reportedly resulted in the complete destruction of 115 tanks, armored vehicles, and artillery guns, severely degrading the Taliban’s operational capabilities. The combined use of ground and air forces reflects a coordinated approach aimed at dismantling the insurgents’ infrastructure comprehensively.

While the Pakistani government has presented these figures as evidence of the operation’s success, independent verification of the claims remains unavailable at this time. Afghan authorities have yet to issue any formal response or confirmation regarding the reported casualties and damage. This lack of immediate feedback leaves some questions unanswered about the full impact and repercussions of the military action on the ground.

It is important to consider the broader context in which Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq is unfolding. The Afghan Taliban have long been a source of instability along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, with cross-border attacks and militant activities frequently disrupting peace and security in the region. Pakistan’s military response aims to send a clear message that such incursions will be met with decisive force, reinforcing the country’s resolve to protect its sovereignty and maintain regional stability.

As the operation continues, the international community and regional stakeholders will be closely monitoring developments. The outcome of this campaign could have significant implications for Pakistan’s security landscape and its relations with Afghanistan. Meanwhile, the Pakistani military remains focused on eradicating militant threats and restoring order in the affected border areas.
