Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has voiced profound sorrow following the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, describing the incident as a deeply tragic event that resonates beyond borders. Speaking from Lahore, she emphasized the strong emotional bond Pakistan shares with Iran, highlighting the nation’s solidarity during this difficult time.

In her official statement, Bokhari condemned the violent attack that led to Khamenei’s martyrdom, underscoring Pakistan’s firm stance against such acts of aggression. She recalled how Pakistan has consistently extended both diplomatic and moral support to Iran, including a clear denunciation of the attack at the United Nations, reflecting the close ties between the two countries.

Turning her attention to the domestic front, the minister made a heartfelt appeal to all religious groups and citizens across Pakistan to exercise patience and maintain peace. She cautioned against any attempts to escalate tensions or resort to violence, warning that such actions could only play into the hands of those seeking to destabilize the nation and the region.

Bokhari stressed the importance of collective responsibility at this sensitive juncture, urging everyone to keep emotions under control and ensure that any demonstrations remain peaceful and orderly. She highlighted that preserving national unity and stability is paramount, especially given the complex geopolitical environment and internal challenges Pakistan currently faces.

Furthermore, the minister reminded the public that peaceful conduct during protests is crucial to safeguarding the country’s social fabric and preventing any damage to public property or disruption of law and order. She called on community leaders and political parties to work together in fostering harmony and discouraging any form of unrest that could undermine Pakistan’s progress.

As the situation continues to develop, Bokhari’s message serves as a timely reminder of the need for calm and solidarity, reflecting Pakistan’s commitment to peace both within its borders and in its foreign relations. Her statement resonates with the broader call for responsible citizenship during moments of international crisis.
