The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a revision in the pricing of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) for the month of September 2026, marking a significant increase in consumer costs. This adjustment includes a rise of Rs51.17 in the price of the domestic LPG cylinder, reflecting broader changes in the per kilogram and per tonne rates.
Specifically, the price per kilogram of LPG has been raised by Rs4.33, bringing the new rate to Rs258.65 per kilogram. This change directly impacts the cost of the commonly used 11.8-kilogram domestic LPG cylinder, which will now be priced at Rs3,052.09. The increase in cylinder price is a direct consequence of the per kilogram adjustment and represents a notable rise for consumers relying on LPG for household energy needs.
In addition to consumer prices, OGRA has also adjusted the producer price for LPG. The producer price has been increased by Rs4,336.17 per tonne, setting the new rate at Rs217,351.52 per tonne. Meanwhile, the consumer price per tonne has been fixed at Rs258,651.52 for the upcoming month. These changes reflect ongoing fluctuations in the energy market and regulatory efforts to align domestic prices with international trends and supply costs.
In a significant development for households and businesses alike, these revised LPG prices will officially take effect starting September 1, 2026. Consumers are advised to prepare for the increased costs as the new rates come into force, impacting monthly household budgets and potentially influencing energy consumption patterns across the country.
