    Syria Removed from US Terror List, Paving Way for Reconstruction

    The United States has officially removed Syria from its longstanding list of designated state sponsors of terrorism, marking a pivotal shift in the country’s international standing. This decision lifts a series of stringent sanctions that have severely restricted Syria’s economic and diplomatic engagements for decades. The removal is expected to open new avenues for foreign investment and aid, which are critical for Syria’s extensive post-war reconstruction efforts. Syrian officials, including former Foreign Minister Walid al-Sharaa, have welcomed the move as a step toward normalizing relations and reviving the battered economy.
