Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, shared a detailed update on the progress of Operation Ghazab lil-Haq through his social media platform on Saturday evening. This operation, launched with the objective of dismantling Taliban strongholds, has reportedly dealt a severe blow to the insurgent group across various parts of Afghanistan.
As of 2100 hours on 28 February, the official figures indicate that the operation has resulted in the deaths of 352 Taliban fighters, with over 535 more sustaining injuries. These numbers reflect the intensity and scale of the military campaign aimed at curbing militant activities and restoring peace in the region.
In addition to the human toll, the operation has caused substantial damage to Taliban infrastructure. Reports confirm the destruction of 130 Taliban check posts, which are critical for controlling territory and movement. Furthermore, 26 posts have been successfully captured, marking a strategic gain for the forces involved in the operation.
Heavy equipment losses have also been inflicted on the Taliban, with 171 tanks and armed vehicles destroyed during the course of the offensive. This significant depletion of the group’s mechanized capabilities undermines their operational strength and mobility.
Air power has played a crucial role in the success of Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, with 41 locations across Afghanistan being targeted effectively by precision air strikes. These coordinated attacks have disrupted Taliban supply lines and command centers, further weakening their hold on the region.
The update from Minister Tarar underscores the effectiveness of the ongoing operation in diminishing the Taliban’s influence and capacity to wage insurgency. It also highlights Pakistan’s continued commitment to supporting regional efforts aimed at stabilizing Afghanistan and combating terrorism. The operation reflects a broader strategy to promote peace and security in a region long plagued by conflict and unrest.
