A woman identified as Hina Javed was reportedly murdered in Rawalpindi, with her husband and a domestic servant arrested in connection to the crime. The victim’s family has also accused her father-in-law of involvement in the killing.

The incident occurred in the Lal Kurti area under the Civil Line police station’s jurisdiction. Hina’s body was discovered in the bathroom of her residence, with her hands tied behind her back. She had been married to Faisal Asghar for nine months.

Authorities have taken Faisal Asghar and the domestic servant, Zeeshan, into custody. The case was registered at Civil Line police station following a complaint filed by Hina’s brother. the First Information Report (FIR), the victim was subjected to torture and is believed to have been forced to ingest poison before being killed. The accused allegedly attempted to disguise the murder as a suicide.

Hina’s brother recounted receiving a call from the father-in-law, after which he rushed to the house and found her lifeless in the bathroom. The FIR also revealed that Faisal Asghar had a history of abusing Hina and that this was his second marriage; his first wife had divorced him citing domestic violence.

The post-mortem examination has been completed, with the report awaited. Investigators have collected all evidence from the scene and are conducting a thorough inquiry into the case.

In a statement released on August 21, two days after the murder, Hina’s family described her as a young woman with a bright future and expressed faith in the legal system. While naming her husband as the main suspect, they emphasized that justice requires holding all involved parties accountable.

The family expressed serious concerns over the absence of Hina’s father-in-law, Asghar Ali, who they believe played a role in the murder and remains at large despite being named in the FIR. They have called for his immediate arrest and a transparent investigation free from interference or delays.

Highlighting that domestic violence is a grave crime rather than a private matter, the family urged media, civil society, and the public to maintain attention on the case to prevent it from being overlooked. They pledged to pursue all legal options until full justice is achieved and requested ongoing support and prayers. Fahd Javed, Sabah Malik, and Shahram Azhar have been appointed as the family’s official representatives for inquiries.

The news of Hina’s death sparked widespread grief and outrage on social media, with many demanding swift justice for the victim.
