In a critical development amid rising tensions in the Gulf region, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed Pakistan’s readiness to contribute positively towards stabilizing the situation. Engaging in separate telephone conversations with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Prime Minister conveyed his strong condemnation of the recent escalation triggered by Israel’s attack on Iran. This incident has since been followed by unfortunate assaults on other Gulf nations, further intensifying regional instability.

During his discussion with the Saudi Crown Prince, Shehbaz Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with Saudi Arabia, highlighting the deep-rooted brotherly ties that bind the two countries. He assured the Saudi leadership that Pakistan stands firmly alongside its Gulf allies in these challenging times, pledging full support and cooperation. The Prime Minister also invoked the spiritual significance of the ongoing holy month of Ramadan, praying that its blessings bring peace and tranquility to the troubled region.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister took to the social media platform X to publicly reaffirm Pakistan’s commitment to its Gulf partners. He underscored the nation’s readiness to play a constructive role aimed at fostering peace and stability amid the escalating conflict. His message resonated with a call for calm, hoping that the sacred month of Ramadan would inspire a return to dialogue and harmony across the region.

In a parallel conversation with the UAE President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Shehbaz Sharif reiterated his condemnation of the recent surge in hostilities. He expressed deep concern over the missile attack on Abu Dhabi, which tragically claimed the life of a Pakistani citizen. The Prime Minister extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, reflecting the human cost of the conflict and Pakistan’s empathy towards those affected.

Shehbaz Sharif also reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast support for the United Arab Emirates, emphasizing the enduring brotherly relations that have withstood the test of time. He assured the UAE leadership that Pakistan remains committed to standing by its Emirati brothers in every circumstance. These diplomatic exchanges underscore Pakistan’s strategic interest in maintaining peace and stability in the Gulf, a region vital to its economic and geopolitical interests.

As the situation continues to evolve, Pakistan’s proactive diplomatic engagement highlights its role as a responsible regional actor seeking to mitigate conflict and promote dialogue. The Prime Minister’s outreach to key Gulf leaders reflects Islamabad’s broader foreign policy objective of fostering unity and cooperation among Muslim nations during periods of crisis.
