Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand engaged in a detailed telephone discussion on Sunday, focusing on the evolving regional dynamics and the recently established defence agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. This high-level conversation highlighted the strategic cooperation aimed at fostering peace and stability across the region.

During the call, Ishaq Dar provided an in-depth briefing to his Canadian counterpart regarding the objectives and significance of the trilateral defence pact. He emphasized Pakistan’s commitment, alongside its partners, to maintaining regional security and addressing shared challenges. The dialogue underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in countering threats and promoting a stable geopolitical environment.

In addition to the defence agreement, the two ministers exchanged perspectives on the escalating tensions between the United States and Iran, a development that continues to impact regional security. They also discussed recent events in occupied Jerusalem and the outcomes of a significant meeting held in Jordan, reflecting their mutual concern over ongoing conflicts and humanitarian issues in the Middle East.

Furthermore, Ishaq Dar expressed gratitude to Anita Anand for her recent visit to Pakistan, acknowledging the positive momentum in bilateral relations between the two countries. Both officials agreed on the necessity of sustaining close communication to address matters of mutual interest and to strengthen diplomatic ties moving forward.
