Pakistan Reaffirms Strong Support for Palestinians at OIC Executive Meeting in Jeddah

During the recent Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Executive Committee ministerial gathering held in Jeddah, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar once again underscored his nation’s steadfast dedication to achieving a just, comprehensive, and enduring solution to the longstanding Palestinian conflict. Highlighting the pivotal role of the OIC, he stressed the organisation’s importance in fostering peace, development, and unity among Muslim countries worldwide.

In his address, Dar vehemently denounced Israel’s ongoing expansionist policies, describing them as not only unacceptable but also as a direct threat to regional and global stability. He urged the international community to urgently acknowledge and respond to Israel’s unlawful actions, emphasizing the critical need to safeguard the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people. The Foreign Minister condemned the repeated violations of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, labeling these breaches as intolerable and calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities.

Dar drew attention to the severe humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza, where Israeli military operations have inflicted devastating consequences. These operations have led to a tragic loss of civilian lives, widespread destruction of property, and the displacement of millions of Palestinians, exacerbating an already dire situation. He highlighted the urgent necessity for coordinated international efforts to alleviate the suffering of the affected population and restore peace to the region.

Further elaborating on Pakistan’s stance, the Foreign Minister affirmed that Islamabad remains actively engaged with its allied and brotherly nations to facilitate a durable ceasefire in Gaza. He condemned the violence in the region as tantamount to genocide, reiterating Pakistan’s unwavering support for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state. Dar pledged that Pakistan will persist in its diplomatic and humanitarian efforts aimed at the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Gaza’s war-torn communities.

He also warned that Israel’s territorial ambitions have not only destabilized Palestine but have also threatened the broader Middle East’s peace and security. Dar called upon global powers and international stakeholders to enforce strict compliance with ceasefire agreements to prevent any further escalation of conflict. His remarks reflected Pakistan’s consistent policy of advocating for justice, peace, and the protection of human rights in the Palestinian territories.

Overall, Pakistan’s position at the OIC meeting reaffirmed its commitment to championing the Palestinian cause on international platforms, emphasizing the need for collective Muslim solidarity and proactive diplomatic engagement to resolve one of the most enduring conflicts in the modern world.
