Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar arrived in Kyrgyzstan on Thursday to represent Pakistan at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers meeting. This high-level gathering brings together foreign ministers from member states to discuss regional cooperation and strategic partnerships.
Upon his arrival, Dar was warmly welcomed by the Kyrgyz Deputy Foreign Minister along with Pakistan’s ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, highlighting the cordial diplomatic relations between the two countries. This visit underscores Pakistan’s active role within the SCO framework, which aims to enhance political, economic, and security collaboration across Eurasia.
Leading Pakistan’s delegation, Deputy Prime Minister Dar is scheduled to participate in various sessions of the SCO foreign ministers’ meeting. In addition to formal discussions, he is expected to attend an informal dinner with fellow foreign ministers, providing an opportunity for candid dialogue and strengthening bilateral ties.
During the meeting, Dar will engage with his counterparts on the agenda items set for the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers, focusing on regional stability, counterterrorism efforts, and economic integration. This visit marks a significant step in Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement within the SCO, reflecting its commitment to fostering multilateral cooperation in the region.
