Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed strong support for a Chinese company’s proposal to upgrade Pakistan’s grain storage infrastructure into advanced, environmentally friendly facilities. He emphasized that this initiative would introduce cutting-edge technology and significantly benefit the agricultural sector.

The prime minister shared these views during a meeting in Islamabad with a delegation led by Jack Chen, Chief Executive Officer of FAMSUN. The delegation outlined their plans to establish a green silo demonstration centre in Pakistan, alongside developing modern storage solutions, transferring technology, and implementing training programs aimed at enhancing the country’s food security.

Shehbaz Sharif highlighted that the project would not only boost commercial activities but also contribute to the overall development of agriculture nationwide. He noted the strengthening economic ties and bilateral relations between Pakistan and China, which continue to deepen over time.

Furthermore, the prime minister stressed that fostering business-to-business cooperation would reinforce the longstanding friendship between the two nations. He also underscored the importance of incorporating skills development and workforce training as integral components of such collaborative efforts.

Jack Chen expressed gratitude to the prime minister and the Pakistani government for their warm reception. He recalled his recent meeting with Shehbaz Sharif during a visit to China, which laid the groundwork for discussions on practical steps to improve food security in Pakistan.

Chen reaffirmed FAMSUN’s commitment to supporting Pakistan by providing modern grain storage technologies, facilitating technology transfer, and offering comprehensive training to build local capacity.
