Donald Trump Intensifies Feud with Robert De Niro, Urges Actor to ‘Leave America’

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has once again stirred controversy by intensifying his long-standing feud with acclaimed actor Robert De Niro. The latest flare-up occurred shortly after Trump delivered his State of the Union address, when he took to social media to lash out not only at political adversaries but also at prominent celebrity critics who have frequently voiced opposition to him.

On Wednesday, February 25, Trump posted a scathing message on his social media platform, Truth Social, targeting Democratic Congresswomen Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib. He accused them of deliberately disrupting his speech the previous evening, implying that their conduct was inappropriate and disrespectful during a significant national event. This attack on the lawmakers was just the opening salvo in a broader tirade that quickly shifted focus to the entertainment world.

Turning his ire towards Robert De Niro, a two-time Academy Award winner known for his outspoken criticism of Trump, the former president did not hold back. He described De Niro in harsh terms, labeling him as “sick and demented” and questioning the actor’s intelligence. Trump suggested that De Niro was confused and misguided in his public statements, some of which he hinted could be considered “seriously criminal.” The former president’s remarks were laced with personal insults, painting De Niro as emotionally unstable and comparing his behavior unfavorably to that of other celebrity critics.

Trump went further by referencing a recent emotional moment involving De Niro, who reportedly broke down in tears during a public event. Drawing a parallel to the former talk show host Rosie O’Donnell, another vocal Trump critic currently in Ireland, he insinuated that De Niro’s emotional state was a sign of deeper issues. Trump’s suggestion that De Niro should “leave America” was a stark escalation in their ongoing public dispute, highlighting the intensity of the animosity between the two figures.

It is important to note that De Niro, now 82 years old, had just delivered a passionate speech at a counter-event titled “State of the Swamp,” held at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. This event was designed as a direct response to Trump’s State of the Union address, aiming to critique the former president’s policies and rhetoric. Additionally, De Niro appeared on the podcast “The Best People” hosted by Nicolle Wallace, where he continued to express his strong disapproval of Trump’s leadership and actions.

This latest exchange adds another chapter to the highly publicized and often bitter rivalry between Trump and De Niro, which has spanned several years and multiple public confrontations. The feud reflects the broader cultural and political divisions in the United States, where celebrity voices have increasingly become intertwined with political discourse. As the nation continues to grapple with these divisions, the personal attacks between high-profile figures like Trump and De Niro serve as a vivid illustration of the polarized climate.
