The planned protest by petrol pump dealers, scheduled to begin tonight, has been called off after the federal government committed to addressing their primary concerns within a two-week timeframe. This decision followed successful negotiations with the Pakistan Petroleum Pump Dealers Association.

In a significant development, Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik met with representatives of the association in Islamabad, where both parties agreed to work collaboratively to resolve outstanding issues through ongoing dialogue.

During a joint media briefing, the minister assured the dealers that the government would strive to grant them their rightful dues, which have been pending since 2022. He emphasized the administration’s dedication to closing the gaps with petroleum dealers and fostering an environment conducive to smooth business operations.

Following these assurances, the association decided to halt its planned protest and continue constructive engagement with the government to settle remaining matters. Both sides concurred that dialogue remains the preferred approach to address the challenges faced by petrol pump dealers and to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply nationwide.
