At least three additional terrorists, reportedly supported by India, were killed during a security operation in Balochistan, raising the total number of militants neutralized in Operation Shaban since its launch on July 5 to 129. The joint operation involved the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC), and police forces, who inflicted significant losses on militants by targeting their hideouts in the province’s remote and rugged areas.
The operation combines both aerial and ground assaults aimed at eliminating India-backed insurgents referred to as “Khawarij.” Officials have emphasized that Operation Shaban will persist throughout Balochistan until every militant threat is eradicated. Notably, the day before, security forces had also killed three terrorists in the region.
In addition to the militants killed, a substantial cache of weapons and ammunition was seized, including submachine guns, rocket launchers, mobile phones, and other equipment. Earlier this month, at least 42 individuals—comprising security personnel and civilians—lost their lives in three separate terrorist attacks across Balochistan, as highlighted by ISPR Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry.
He detailed that India-backed terrorists targeted the Mangi checkpoint, where police personnel mounted a courageous defense, killing 15 militants during the initial confrontation. Since the Afghan Taliban assumed power in 2021, Pakistan has experienced a notable increase in terrorist activities, particularly in the provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
