Nearly 40,000 Travelers Denied Boarding at Pakistani Airports Over Document Issues

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has disclosed that a significant number of Pakistani citizens were prevented from boarding flights at various airports across the country while attempting to travel abroad. In total, 39,786 individuals were offloaded during these security checks, highlighting ongoing efforts to tighten travel document verification and enhance border security.

Among those stopped, 20,408 passengers were found to have incomplete or missing travel documents, which led to their denial of boarding. Meanwhile, 12,673 travelers were offloaded because their travel documents raised suspicion, indicating potential irregularities or concerns about their authenticity. This reflects the agency’s increased vigilance in scrutinizing travel credentials to prevent illegal or unauthorized travel.

In addition to document-related issues, the FIA identified 3,450 individuals whose names appeared on official stop lists, barring them from leaving the country. Another 505 passengers were stopped due to following incorrect travel routes, which may indicate attempts to circumvent standard immigration procedures. Notably, 281 travelers were caught possessing fake travel documents, underscoring the ongoing challenges posed by fraudulent papers in international travel.

These measures by the FIA demonstrate a concerted effort to safeguard national security and ensure compliance with travel regulations. The agency continues to monitor and enforce strict protocols at airports to prevent misuse of travel documents and unauthorized departures from Pakistan.
