Seven-Day Special Polio Vaccination Drive Launches in Balochistan Tomorrow

A comprehensive seven-day polio vaccination campaign is set to commence in Balochistan starting from July 13. This large-scale initiative aims to immunize children across the province, deploying thousands of vaccination teams to administer life-saving oral drops. The drive represents a critical step in the ongoing efforts to eliminate polio from the region.

Approximately 2,700 dedicated polio teams will be actively engaged in this campaign, covering major districts including Quetta, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Chaman, and Barshore. These teams will work tirelessly to reach children in both urban and remote areas, ensuring maximum coverage and protection against the poliovirus.

In a significant development, Balochistan’s Polio Coordinator, Inam-ul-Haq, emphasized that the eradication of polio is a shared responsibility that requires the cooperation of all sectors of society. He called upon community members, health workers, and local leaders to support the vaccination efforts wholeheartedly, highlighting that collective action is essential to making the province polio-free.

Polio remains a public health challenge in parts of Pakistan, and such targeted vaccination campaigns are crucial to preventing outbreaks and safeguarding children’s health. This special drive in Balochistan reflects the government’s commitment to achieving a polio-free status through sustained immunization and community engagement.
