In a tragic incident during an election rally in Kotli, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, a worker affiliated with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was fatally shot, while two others sustained injuries. The attack occurred amid heightened political tensions as parties campaign vigorously ahead of the upcoming elections. Such violence underscores the risks faced by political activists in the region, where election-related clashes have occasionally escalated into deadly confrontations.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed a series of politically motivated incidents in recent years, reflecting the intense rivalry among major parties like PML-N, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and others. Election rallies often attract large crowds, making them vulnerable to security breaches and violent outbreaks. This latest shooting incident highlights the urgent need for enhanced security measures to protect candidates and supporters during the election season.

Notably, the killing of a PML-N worker could further inflame political tensions in Kotli and surrounding areas, potentially impacting voter turnout and campaign dynamics. Authorities are expected to investigate the incident thoroughly to bring the perpetrators to justice and restore public confidence in the electoral process. Meanwhile, political leaders have condemned the violence, calling for peaceful campaigning and respect for democratic norms.
