Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed the state’s commitment to decisively eliminate terrorism originating from across the borders. He made these remarks while addressing the graduating officers of the National Security and War Course at the National Defence University (NDU), which includes participants from all military services.
In his speech, the field marshal emphasized the changing nature of warfare and stressed the importance of strategic clarity and institutional professionalism to effectively manage complex security challenges. He praised institutions like NDU for their vital role in preparing future military and civilian leaders to confront hybrid, conventional, and sub-conventional threats with foresight, confidence, and determination.
Notably, Munir highlighted that the Pakistan Armed Forces are adjusting their operational and development strategies to align with the evolving character of modern warfare. He pointed out that the military remains fully aware of hostile intelligence agencies’ state-sponsored efforts aimed at destabilizing Pakistan.
He further condemned the activities of proxies and networks operating under the guidance of these hostile agencies, declaring their attempts to undermine Pakistan’s internal security and economic stability as futile. The army chief assured that, with the nation’s support, the armed forces will thoroughly dismantle terrorist sanctuaries and their facilitators.
In a significant development, Munir stressed that victory in conflicts is not achieved through media rhetoric or political slogans but through faith, unity, and discipline. He concluded by expressing strong confidence in the professionalism, morale, and operational readiness of Pakistan’s battle-hardened armed forces. He urged the graduating officers to uphold the values of integrity, selfless service, and unwavering dedication to the nation.
