Government to Enhance Passport Home Delivery for Overseas Pakistanis

The federal government is planning to further improve the passport home delivery service for overseas Pakistanis to enhance convenience for the diaspora. This initiative follows directives from Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi aimed at streamlining the process.

In a significant development, DG Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa convened a meeting with representatives from NADRA and DHL to discuss ways to make the passport home delivery service faster, simpler, and more dependable. The participants agreed on finalizing the procedures to ensure a smoother experience for applicants.

The meeting also emphasized strengthening collaboration between the involved institutions to provide maximum ease to overseas Pakistanis. This decision comes shortly after the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports introduced a doorstep passport delivery service, allowing applicants to receive their passports without the need to visit collection centers.

Launched under the interior minister’s guidance, this service aims to improve public convenience and expedite passport delivery. Applicants can now have their passports delivered directly to their registered addresses, eliminating the requirement to collect documents in person from passport offices.

Meanwhile, earlier announcements by Naqvi highlighted the activation of cashless payment systems at all passport offices nationwide. Through his social media platform, the interior minister stated that applicants no longer need to endure long queues or wait extended hours to complete payments.

He credited this reform to the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and noted that his team had successfully implemented the change. Naqvi described this as a step toward making public services faster, more transparent, and more user-friendly, with further improvements planned in the future, InshaAllah.
