SKARDU: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), arrived in Gilgit-Baltistan on Sunday to participate in the oath-taking ceremony of the region’s chief minister-elect, Amjad Hussain. Preparations for the event have been completed in full.

Bilawal flew to Skardu via a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight, accompanied by senior PPP leaders including Qamar Zaman Kaira and other party officials. Upon landing at Skardu Airport, he engaged with fellow travelers, posed for photographs, and was warmly welcomed by Amjad Hussain along with other political figures.

Following his arrival, Bilawal proceeded to Gilgit, where he interacted with local residents along the way, attentively listening to their concerns and issues. He is currently staying at a hotel in Gilgit, where he is conducting meetings with various political and social leaders in preparation for the upcoming ceremony.

Meanwhile, authorities have finalized all arrangements for the oath-taking event, which will be held at Chinar Bagh, the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Gilgit. Security measures have been intensified to ensure a smooth and safe ceremony.

The swearing-in is scheduled for 2pm on Tuesday, during which Amjad Hussain will officially assume office as the new chief minister of Gilgit-Baltistan. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is expected to attend the ceremony as a distinguished guest, marking a significant political occasion for the region.
