    PM Shehbaz Sharif Leads Pakistani Delegation at Khamenei Funeral in Tehran

    Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif headed a Pakistani delegation to Tehran on Friday to pay tribute and extend the heartfelt condolences of the government and people of Pakistan at the funeral of the late Supreme Leader of Iran, Shaheed Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei.

    The prime minister was accompanied by senior political and military figures, reflecting the strong and enduring ties between Pakistan and Iran. The delegation included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, along with several senior cabinet ministers and top officials.

    At the solemn ceremony held at the Grand Mosalla in Tehran, Shehbaz Sharif paid homage to the late leader, emphasizing that his wisdom, vision, and significant influence on Iran and the broader region will be remembered for generations. The prime minister also inscribed his thoughts in the condolence book, highlighting the profound impact of Ayatollah Khamenei’s long-standing leadership across the Islamic world.

    In addition to the funeral proceedings, Shehbaz Sharif engaged with Iranian leadership, reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support for its neighboring country during this time of deep national mourning. The multi-day funeral rites have drawn numerous foreign dignitaries, state representatives, and millions of mourners from across Iran.
