In a significant development, Dr. Badar-ul-Islam, currently a BS-21 professor at Khawaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology in Rahim Yar Khan, has been named chairperson of the Lahore BISE. Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Abdul Rauf, also a BS-21 professor from the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, will serve as chairperson of the Dera Ghazi Khan board.

Dr. Aqsa Shabbir, a BS-20 associate professor at Lahore College for Women University, has been appointed to lead the Gujranwala board. Dr. Rana Binyamin, previously chairman and associate professor at Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture in Multan, will head the Faisalabad board. Iqbal Mahmood, a BS-20 principal at Government Graduate College Abdullah Pur in Faisalabad, has been assigned as chairperson of the Rawalpindi board.

Further appointments include Dr. Ijaz Ahmad, a BS-20 associate professor at the University of Education, Lahore, as chairperson of the Multan board. Abbas Haider, a BS-19 director in the Intelligence Bureau, has been posted to lead the Sargodha board, while Ishtiaq Ahmad, a BS-19 director of information technology at the University of Sargodha, will chair the Bahawalpur board.

Faisal Ijaz, a BS-19 additional controller of examinations at the University of Gujrat and currently controller of examinations at the Information Technology University in Lahore, has been appointed chairperson of the Sahiwal board. All appointments have been made on deputation under the standard terms of the Punjab Deputation Policy, 1998.

Notably, the new chairpersons will receive a special “Chairman BISE Allowance” equivalent to the initial basic pay of their respective pay scales, a benefit approved by the provincial cabinet in December 2025. The Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education are tasked with conducting secondary and higher secondary examinations, announcing results, and managing affiliated educational institutions within their jurisdictions.
