Former AJK PM Tanveer Ilyas Joins IPP with Senior Leaders

Former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, officially joined the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) on Wednesday, accompanied by several prominent political leaders. This move followed a meeting with IPP President Abdul Aleem Khan, signaling a significant expansion of the party’s political footprint in the region.

Alongside Tanveer Ilyas, Azad Kashmir Agriculture Minister Chaudhry Ali Shan Soni also became part of the IPP. Additionally, former Health Minister Ansar Anwar Abbasi and ex-adviser to the AJK Prime Minister, Sardar Iftikhar Rasheed, joined the party, further bolstering its ranks.

Welcoming the new members, Abdul Aleem Khan emphasized that the inclusion of these senior leaders would strengthen the IPP’s organizational framework, not only in Azad Kashmir but across other areas of Pakistan. He expressed optimism about the party’s growing influence and its capacity to deliver on its agenda.

Expressing their confidence in the party’s direction, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas and the other leaders praised Abdul Aleem Khan’s leadership and the IPP’s focus on public service, effective governance, and national progress. These factors were pivotal in their decision to align with the party.

Political analysts view the induction of such influential figures as a strategic advantage for the IPP, potentially reshaping the political dynamics of Azad Kashmir and affecting future alliances in the region.

Notably, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas had resigned from the Pakistan Peoples Party just a day prior, ending his basic membership before joining the IPP. This transition marks a significant shift in his political career and the broader political landscape of Azad Kashmir.
