Bahrain Condemns Alleged Iranian Drone Attack, Vows to Protect Sovereignty

Bahrain strongly condemned what it described as Iranian drone attacks targeting its territory, asserting its right to take all necessary actions to protect its sovereignty and national security. The kingdom emphasized it would fully exercise its right to defend itself against any territorial violations.

Earlier, Iran declared it had launched strikes against targets linked to US forces in the region, though it did not disclose the exact locations or specify the targets involved. This development occurred despite a ceasefire agreement reached between Washington and Tehran just a week prior.

The tensions escalated after an Iranian drone reportedly struck a cargo vessel in the Strait of Hormuz, prompting the United States to respond with airstrikes against Iranian missile, drone storage, and coastal radar installations. Iran confirmed that the area near the southern port of Sirik was targeted but stated that the port itself sustained no damage.

In retaliation, Tehran announced attacks on sites associated with US forces in the region, without providing further details. Both nations have accused each other of breaching the ceasefire agreement.

In a significant development, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards warned of a broader response to any additional attacks and asserted Tehran’s authority over shipping regulations in the strategically vital waterway. Meanwhile, US Vice President JD Vance affirmed that Washington has honored the truce and cautioned that any further aggression would be met with decisive force.
