Iranian President Pezeshkian Emphasizes Implementation Ahead of Islamabad Visit

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is scheduled to arrive in Islamabad later today, emphasizing that the success of ongoing negotiations relies heavily on the faithful execution of previously agreed commitments. He highlighted that genuine progress should be evaluated through tangible actions rather than mere statements.

In a statement shared on X, Pezeshkian underscored that the effectiveness of the discussions depends on full dedication to the agreed terms. He noted that only their precise implementation will determine whether meaningful advancements are achieved.

He further warned that any deviation from the agreed framework could jeopardize the negotiation process. Pezeshkian cautioned that comments made outside the established agreements would not aid in moving the talks forward.

Meanwhile, security measures ahead of Pezeshkian’s visit have caused significant disruptions in Islamabad’s Red Zone. Judicial activities at major courts in the federal capital were suspended due to road closures and restricted access. The Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) halted its proceedings, directing staff to work remotely while maintaining administrative functions through branch offices.

Similarly, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) canceled its hearings for the day, instructing judges and personnel to operate from home because of the high-security restrictions. However, district courts continued their normal operations.

The disruption extended beyond the judiciary as the Cabinet Division ordered ministries located within the Red Zone to implement work-from-home policies. Despite these restrictions, key federal institutions such as the Prime Minister’s Office, Foreign Office, Finance Division, Federal Board of Revenue, and parliamentary secretariats remained fully functional.

Authorities also closed several hiking trails in the Margalla Hills and suspended various public services, including most citizen facilitation centers and driving test operations, as part of the security arrangements. Islamabad Police informed the public about limited access to multiple services, with traffic and entry points in sensitive areas under tight control throughout the day.
