Authorities Conduct Inspections After Major Fuel Price Cuts

The district administration has initiated thorough inspections of petrol stations to verify the enforcement of the federal government’s recent significant reductions in fuel prices and to curb any potential violations by fuel retailers.

In a major move to ease the financial burden on consumers grappling with inflation and rising transportation costs, the federal government slashed petrol prices by Rs74 per litre and diesel prices by Rs67 per litre. This adjustment comes in the wake of improved regional stability following the Islamabad MoU and favorable shifts in the global oil market.

Officials anticipate that these price cuts will substantially reduce transportation expenses, thereby offering some financial relief to both households and businesses across the country.

To guarantee that the benefits of the reduced prices reach consumers, assistant commissioners and other administrative officials have been actively inspecting petrol pumps in various localities. The administration confirmed that the new pricing was implemented at all petrol stations starting from midnight immediately after the federal notification was issued.

So far, no instances of non-compliance have been reported during these inspections. Meanwhile, citizens are urged to remain vigilant and report any petrol pumps found charging above the official rates. For this purpose, a complaint helpline has been established at 051-9018084 to address concerns related to overcharging or other irregularities in fuel pricing.
