Pakistan Introduces Home Delivery and Cashless Payments for Passports

In a significant development, Pakistan has approved major reforms to its passport issuance system aimed at improving user convenience. The new measures include the introduction of home delivery services, allowing applicants to receive their passports directly at their doorstep. This change is expected to reduce the need for in-person visits to passport offices, streamlining the overall process for citizens.

Additionally, the government has authorized the adoption of cashless payment methods for passport applications and related fees. This move aligns with broader efforts to digitize public services and enhance transparency by minimizing cash transactions. The implementation of electronic payments is anticipated to facilitate faster processing times and reduce the risk of corruption.

These reforms come amid growing demand for more accessible and secure government services in Pakistan. By modernizing passport issuance, the authorities aim to improve the travel documentation experience for millions of Pakistanis. The changes are also expected to support the country’s digital transformation agenda and promote financial inclusion through cashless transactions.
