    PML-N Announces Candidates for 37 AJK Seats Ahead of July 27 Polls

    The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has finalized and issued tickets for 37 constituencies of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly, ahead of the elections scheduled for July 27. This move sets the stage for a competitive electoral battle across the region.

    The party’s Parliamentary Board, after a series of high-level meetings led by senior leadership, approved candidates representing all major divisions such as Mirpur, Bhimber, Kotli, Poonch, Muzaffarabad, Neelum, Haveli, as well as constituencies reserved for Jammu and Kashmir refugees residing in Pakistan.

    In a significant development, former AJK prime minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan secured the ticket for LA-32 Chikar, a constituency regarded as his traditional stronghold. Meanwhile, opposition leader Shah Ghulam Qadir will contest from both Upper and Lower Neelum Valley seats (LA-25 and LA-26).

    Senior party figures have also been nominated, including Chaudhry Tariq Farooq for LA-07 Bhimber City and Sardar Abdul Khaliq Wasi for the Mirpur division. Malik Muhammad Yusuf will represent Kotli (LA-10), while Sardar Amir Altaf retains the ticket for Poonch (LA-19). Khawaja Muhammad Aziz has been selected for Haveli (LA-17).

    For the refugee constituencies based in Pakistan, Raja Muhammad Siddique will contest from Jammu-1 (LA-39), and Muhammad Ahmed Raza Qadri has been nominated for the Kashmir Valley refugee seat (LA-44).
