Levies Force Fully Integrated into Balochistan Police, Ending Dual System

The long-anticipated integration of the Levies Force into the Balochistan Police has been finalized, marking a significant shift towards unified law enforcement across the province. A total of 32,942 Levies personnel have now been incorporated into the Balochistan Police under a newly established administrative framework.

This historic change ends the decades-old division between A and B areas, which had maintained a dual policing system within the province. With this restructuring, the responsibility for maintaining law and order in Balochistan now rests solely with the Police Department.

The abolition of the dual system is expected to standardize policing practices, enhance response efficiency, and improve coordination in addressing security challenges throughout the region.

The Inspector General of Balochistan Police praised the merger, highlighting that the inclusion of thousands of Levies personnel will considerably bolster the police force’s overall strength and operational capacity.

Viewed as a crucial move towards modernizing law enforcement in one of Pakistan’s largest and strategically vital provinces, the unified command is anticipated to resolve persistent issues linked to tribal policing structures. It is also expected to introduce greater professionalism and accountability in security operations.

The provincial government has expressed optimism that the revamped police force will play a key role in fostering enhanced peace and stability across Balochistan.
