Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Special Protection Wing on Friday to assess its training and operational readiness. He emphasized the need to modernize the force international standards to effectively address emerging security threats.

During the visit, the minister highlighted that the Special Protection Wing is undergoing restructuring modeled after advanced countries. This unit plays a crucial role in safeguarding foreign dignitaries visiting Pakistan.

He underscored the importance of elevating professionalism through updated training techniques and enhanced operational preparedness. To achieve this, he approved initiatives for personnel to receive advanced instruction from foreign trainers and for selected officers to attend specialized courses abroad.

Naqvi also instructed a focus on physical fitness, proficiency in handling modern weaponry, and professional driving skills. Additionally, he called for improving educational standards and providing international language training to boost communication capabilities within the force.

In terms of equipment and infrastructure, the minister directed the acquisition of modern anti-riot gear to strengthen the Federal Constabulary’s capacity to maintain peace and counter terrorism effectively. Welfare improvements were also prioritized, including ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply in barracks and the immediate construction of a gymnasium and swimming pool at the training center to enhance physical conditioning.

Inspector General Federal Constabulary Nazir Ahmad Gaada updated the minister on ongoing training programs and institutional reforms designed to increase operational efficiency within the force.
