Security forces eliminated 14 terrorists affiliated with the foreign-backed group ‘Fitna al Hindustan’ during an intelligence-driven operation in Basima district, Balochistan, the military’s media wing announced on Tuesday.
The operation commenced Monday night in the Naal area of Basima following credible intelligence that revealed terrorists were preparing coordinated assaults on a local police station and financial institutions. The forces acted swiftly to intercept these plans.
During a fierce firefight, Lance Havildar Muhammad Abbass displayed exceptional bravery before succumbing to his injuries, attaining martyrdom. His sacrifice was honored by the military statement.
Security forces promptly moved to contain the terrorists’ movements upon receiving intelligence about their malicious intentions. The operation effectively disrupted the terrorists’ plans, resulting in a heavy exchange of fire that left 14 terrorists dead and several others wounded.
Authorities recovered a significant cache of weapons and ammunition from the site. Additionally, four vehicles used by the terrorists and multiple improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were destroyed during the operation.
In a significant development, a sanitization operation is ongoing in the surrounding areas to eliminate any remaining hostile elements. The military reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating terrorism under the national strategy “Azm-e-Istehkam,” recently endorsed by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan (NAP).
